Yes, different areas require different needs for vehicles to run at their peak efficiency... Oh, and BTW...

That would be wishful thinking but not possible due to topographical (CO) and environmental (CA) factors so I would say...No

No, differences in topography, population density and climate affect the amount of smog that collects over any particular place. There must be different formulations to address all these variations.

No - Although there are probably too many formulations, a single formulation would not be anywhere near optimum for the range of climate, altitude and local pollution conditions.

No way. Different regions need different formulations. Geography and population density affect the amount of smog produced in different areas. And weather also plays a role. Places like L.A. need formulations that go farther to reduce emmissions than out on the Great Plains.

I don't think there should. Things like weather and population density of different regions make it an unrealistic goal to shoot for.

No, cause differant regins have differant requirments, including weather, population - adds to smog the more the not so merrier and landscape. certain gases would freeze your fuel lines in cold temps.

Yes, because then everyone including the people in California would NOT be paying California prices. There would be issues in California regarding supply and they might pay more, and yes, I am sure that people in some states would be paying more. But overall it would help supply throughout teh country to have just one product spec. In Massachusetts we use e10 and it is supposed to be CARB spec stuff and we aren't paying those high prices. I've got to believe that if e10 was the only product available that it would be even cheaper here.

I would say YES but taking into consideration all the variables (altitudes, locations, weather conditions) I would have to say I'm NOT SURE.

No - Besides the fact that the "optimum" formulation varies with temperature, altitude and local air quality, any attempt to standardize formulations would probably result in the most restrictive (expensive" formulation. Imagine if everyone was paying California prices.
